Derive Sobel's operators?
The two operators for detecting and smoothing horizontal and vertical
edges are shown below:
[-1 0 1]
[-2 0 2]
[-1 0 1]
and
[-1 -2 -1]
[ 0 0 0]
[ 1 2 1]
But after much Googling, I still have no idea where these operators come
from. I would appreciate it if someone can show me how they are derived.
